A few years ago, we opened a bank account for planet Earth, the “Earth Fund”.

The account is held by a charity organisation called Earth Care Collective, a team of dedicated ecological and social engineers.

Behind the commitment to foster change in the global social landscape, is the overarching question of legacy, “What kind of world are we setting up for future generations?”

Custodianship has been the norm for the vast expanse of countless generations of humanity. Yet title, ownership, property and settlement has popped up in the last few thousand years, has fuelled every historical empire, and is the driving force behind today’s supposed global free market. Industrial and technological innovation has given us many things, but also a blindness to the amount of waste and increasing toxification of Earth’s natural resources, while we continue the present consumptive behaviours.

The Earth Fund is a move to represent the unspoken voices of all those who recognise the need for change but feel overwhelmed and powerless, especially with so much energy behind the military industrial complex, and how quickly governments justify violence.

If taxation were transparent, represented equality, and returned a fair dividend to repairing and putting back natural systems that are left more depleted by humanities current activities, there would be no need for the Earth Fund.

The initial goal of the fund is to hold $1 for every person alive. People can donate as much or little as they like. The money is held in the account in perpetuity. The interest is accrued, and released only to purchase land.

“$1, it’s no small change!”

Many people have already asked… “what would Earth spend money on?” The answer is simple…

Buying some of the land back that isn’t being utilised or missappropriated, while also remaining peaceful and non combative to the current governance agendas. Earth’s systems are in decline, yet governments don’t mobilise enough resources or energy towards repair.

The seed of this movement germinated after asking a child what they thought about “world peace”? After a lengthy and flowing discussion, I’d expressed that what we are currently missing, is a collective body of energy that can act in accordance with our highest intentions for good will, that works on a global scale. Basically the opposite of a military force geared up for destruction.

We are simply going to the money marketplace with a different approach that we feel will give people an opportunity to be involved in positive community based ecological action and education.

Once the land is purchased, it belongs to the organisation that holds the account, which for all purposes, holds the land in an environmental and community trust for preservation and protection, ad infinitum.

It is also a meeting or gathering place and sanctuary where people can show up of their own free will. No one person or corporate agenda will ever have ownership or control of that land. Each and every person are fully responsible and accountable for their actions and always encouraged to observe the organisation’s ethics, including but not limited to contribution, Inclusivity, respect, consent, tolerance, care of self and care reflected to all else.

It is global, the fund represents all of humanity. Whether you donate directly to the fund or not. You can also donate your time and energy. Your skills are also a valuable resource, and once involved, you’ll no doubt learn many other valuable, life changing and rewarding skills. In time the fund will acquire land, everywhere people desire to live in peace, and be involved in something other than being a number in the debt machine.

Right now we are on the look out for ground zero, a patch of dirt to get started, and build the team of volunteers and change makers that can demonstrate the concept to roll out world wide.
